What are the tasks of a CTO?

A Chief Technology Officer leads a team from different areas such as development or system administration. He is responsible for controlling and optimizing agile processes. He also assumes responsibility for the external infrastructure of the various products in the respective area and is responsible for the technology department. Controlling the technical further development of the platform and its system architecture with a focus on security, accessibility and performance are also among the tasks of a CTO.

Requirements for a CTO

A successfully completed degree in computer science and several years of professional experience as a developer or agile product manager are required. A CTO should have very good knowledge of PHP and Java and experience in Linux system administration. He should have a strong interest in modern web applications, mobile applications, clean codes as well as agile processes and technologies.
